Honestly? I pray.

I always try to go in with a positive attitude. I always think of myself as Tita from “Like Water for Chocolate”. I don’t want any bad juju in my food - it’ll mess it all up!

was handed to me today.
I now realize why chefs are always cooking, always doing something in the kitchen. Practice makes perfect, y’all.
I opted to stay out of the kitchen during WoF: Japan because I didn’t want to do anything to harm my wrist. Maybe I should’ve not just stuffed my face with free Japanese food, and came home and cooked something.

1) Caviar.
In class, the caviar guy showed up with what probably amounted to $3,000 in caviar. His visit was kind of a big deal; the whole morning of Seafood I.D. was just us making toast points, eggs, and blini.

I made it through my first week of Skills I without maiming myself like the rest of my classmates.
It seriously kicked my ass on how hard it was, and it’s not really that hard. I just had to learn how to channel my energy in a different way, and I totally have kitchen ADD. It was a bit of a struggle. Oh, and I had to learn really quick that I don’t know everything. Who knew?

Scary Crush?

Reward system
Whenever I can make it through a full day without being homesick, I reward myself.
Today’s reward was my electric kettle and tea supplies.
